Data can be lost or become corrupt because of a hardware or software malfunction on your computer or storage device.  Hardware, such as the hard disk on your server, pc or laptop can be damaged if it is handled carelessly, overheats or experiences a physical shock. Other storage media, such as USB storage, external hard drives, SD cards, DVD, CD and tape back ups can easily get damaged. Unfortunately, this often results in the loss of some or all the data on them. Our engineers have experience in recovering data from IDE and SATA hard disks, SSD drives, SCSI and disks in RAID formats.

Logical data loss can occur when operating system software or file system applications malfunction. File partitions can become corrupt, operating systems can fail to boot or correctly load the master boot record, or data can be accidently deleted or overwritten or access to the data is maliciously prevented by a virus.

If data loss happens we recommend:

  1. Stop immediately – if possible safely power off your machine/device. Do not try recover data yourself, as this can make the problem worse and more expensive to fix.
  2. Take note of the status of your computer/storage media and document any incidents, noise or errors encountered prior to the problem occurring. This can greatly reduce the recovery time.
  3. Contact us Eonvia 021 464 2096 and one of our engineers will assist you.
  4. We aim to recover your data quickly and completely. We cannot guarantee complete recovery but that is the aim.

Eonvia will assess the data loss situation. We will diagnose hardware or software issues, provide you with the best solution and get your consent to continue with the recovery process. We will contact you prior to any further steps that may incur a higher charge, for example, if there was a need for a replacement hard drive for the newly recovered data and we also provide encryption of same, for an additional charge. We provide you with a file listing of the recovered files. Where necessary we replace your media device and return your damaged one to you, so no data is retained by Eonvia beyond the recovery process. We carry out the recovery of your data with utmost discretion and will provide confidentiality agreements on request. We are GDPR compliant.

We have a tracking system to ensure the traceability of each client’s machine\device and we ensure to use specialised data recovery tools designed not to further damage the data.

The speed at which you recover your data can be critical to the continuing operation of your operation. Your data is important to you, your peace of mind is important to us!
